The Kenyan music scene is undergoing immense revolution with veteran artistes doing collabos with new entrants in the industry. Such is the case between genge rapper Jua Cali and 16-year old Maria Makenna Ngugi.
The two artistes are currently in studio recording the new single that is set to debut in November. "In studio with working on a massive collaboration set to debut in November, 2012. I am so honoured for this opportunity. Cheers" tweeted Makenna a few minutes ago. Makenna is the daughter to “Adopt-a-Light” CEO, Esther Passaris. Makenna who studied abroad has been singing and already has her first single out “Yeah No Definitely”, that was recorded and produced in the UK.
For now, Makenna is officially back in the country and expressed her enthusiasm saying that she is eager to immerse herself into the local music industry. She also revealed that she wants to be the first Kenyan to win a Grammy. Check out her single, “Yeah No Definitely”, below;
