The Richest Man In Kenya
The latest ranking by the forbes magazine puts uhuru muigai Kenyatta at the top of the Kenyan rich list but is that correct? Is Uhuru Kenyatta the richest man in Kenya as is claimed by the forbes magazine? Well Uhuru Kenyatta is no doubt among the richest people in Kenya but I seriously doubt the suggestion that he is the richest person in Kenya. In naming Uhuru as the richest in Kenya, forbes has ruled out former president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi because of what they termed as an ill gotten wealth. Yes, moi’s wealth may be ill-gotten but what of Uhuru Kenyatta? Where is his wealth from? Business? Entrepreneurship? Or an investment he has done with clean money?
Truth be told Uhuru’s riches are mostly as a result of the money he has inherited from his father, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta who was the first president of Kenya at independence. I therefore see forbes assertion that Moi’s wealth is ill-gotten and Uhuru’s is clean as contradiction. A fact is that they both got the chunk of their wealth from looting public money.
Now who is the richest man in Kenya? Is it Moi, Kenyatta family, Nicholas Biwott or someone else? They are all super and extremely rich but who is the richest among them?
Moi is the richest man in Kenya
Believe it or not retired president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi is no doubt the richest person in Kenya. The former Baringo central legislator who has been the president of Kenya for 25 good years of intimidation, corruption, regime brutality and all manners of bad things is now the undisputed king of money in Kenya. If Moi is blessed with something its wealth and some people are of the belief that he is among the richest not only in Kenya but also in Africa.
The touch talking and never apologetic former president has indeed created an empire of wealth that could be enough to cover more than half of kenya’s annual budget which is estimated to be more than one trillion Kenya shillings. His sons, Gideon and Philip are equally wealthy. So in summary Moi and family are the richest personalities in Kenya.
Proof that Moi is the richest person in Kenya.
Being rich and wealth is determined by the amount of money you have, the number of investments you have made, what kind of house you live in, whether you fly in choppers or public transport means among other determinants. To proof that Daniel Arap Moi is the wealthiest man in Kenya here is few of what he owns. Money kept in foreign bank accounts isn’t included here and if were to know, there is high possibility of the wealth surging upwards. here are a brief summary of what Moi owns
